Message from Syrian mother

I received this message from my Syrian friend Dina. Please help Syrian people and spread it.

I am a Syrian citizen . I had a normal life like any of you. Used to go to work everyday, get online to get in touch with friends and family , go out shopping, or just simply hang out with friends . Sometimes even go out on short trips. ... I was forced to accept corruption , oppression and violation of simple human rights . But at the end of the day, this was the life style of a normal Syrian citizen .

Today I can tell you the difference between types of bombs, missiles and riffles just by listening to the explosion and echo sounds. I can tell what is a fake sound in the Hollywood movies and what is real .

My two kids used to go to school and summer camps just like yours. This year they had to learn new skills, they went to special training to learn how to hide, how to avoid explosions and how to cope with the scene of blood all around . They also had to learn how to be calm and act quietly if they saw me lying dead and what to do and who to call from relatives. My 6 year old could understand and asked questions. My 5 year old could not grasp it. And still poor baby wakes up everyday with nightmares from what they see as everyday life now. Going to school like all kids around the world is out of the question now.

I am grateful to God that we still live in our house and not in a make shift shelter in a school or a refugee camp tent. I am grateful that I do not have to beg for my kids dinner or mine.

I am a civilian living in a war zone ! I have basic rights like all humans on earth. I am not asking u to put yourself in my shoes, but to pray for us.

I wonder everyday when I go out to buy groceries to feed my kids, will I be able to come home safely and find my home, and see my children again ?

If you were in my situation and I was reading your post asking for help , what would I do ?

Please write a letter to your government and ask them to pressure the international community and put real pressure on the war crime criminal maniac Assad . Stop killing the civilians for the sake of control and power everyday .

Is it too much to ask you to go out of your way and help me to ask for my rights as a human being ? The right to live safely as a civilian citizen ? Will you reach out to your government and help my children ?

Syrians and lots of Arabs and citizens of the world are going out in the streets to raise awareness in most countries across the globe . Please help us. Do something . Share this with the rest of the world ...
